Marriage Licenses

Are you getting married in North Branford (or Northford)?

If yes, please follow the instructions below.  If not, you must obtain your marriage license from the town where the ceremony will take place.

Marriage licenses are processed by appointment only. Bridal couples are asked to email the office with wedding date and location and officiator name and phone number after completing the online marriage license application to make an appointment. We accept cash or check only. Fill out the Marriage License Application.

Requirements

•    Both parties must be present in the Town Clerk’s Office to obtain the marriage license
•    Both parties must bring valid government issued photo identification (driver’s license or passport)
•    Marriage license fee is $50.00 
•    Certified copies of marriage license are $20.00 each
•    Payment:  cash or check only (no debit or credit cards)

Please note, the Town Clerk’s Office only ISSUES the license to marry.  You must make your own arrangements for the ceremony and the officiator to perform the marriage ceremony.
