Animal Control
During the 2004 to 2005 fiscal year, the Town entered into a inter-municipal agreement with the Town of Branford to provide Animal Control services for North Branford.

Assessor
Connecticut Assessors are bound by state statute to perform various duties, which include determining property values for taxation purposes, and reviewing and approving various forms of property tax relief.

Building Department
The Building Department is responsible for monitoring all building activities in Town through the issuance of permits and inspections for all new and renovated buildings, electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, fireplaces, demolitions and gas and oil tank installations and removals.

Central Services - Purchasing
The Central Services Department is responsible for two distinct functions for the Town of North Branford, Purchasing and Risk Management.

The emergency center for the Town is located in the Police Department.

Engineering Department
The Town of North Branford Engineering Department provides technical support to Town Boards, Commissions and Departments.

Finance Department
The Finance Department is responsible for the development of the Town’s Annual Budget and Capital Improvements Plan documents; the reporting, monitoring and accounting of all financial transactions involving the Town; the investment of general government, pension and trust funds; the preparation of information for the issuance of long-term debt and the preparation of financial statements and related schedules for the annual audit of the Town’s financial records.

Health Department

The North Branford Library system, composed of the Atwater Memorial Library in North Branford and the Edward Smith Library in Northford, has been providing service to area residents since 1933.

The Parks and Recreation Department is committed to providing recreational opportunities through programs and facilities for all residents.

The Planning Department is responsible for administrative and technical assistance to the Planning and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency and Housing Partnership Committee.

Town Clerk
The Town Clerk is the official record keeper of the town. This department records all documents pertaining to real estate, processes vital statistics records, issues various licenses, manages elections in conjunction with the Registrar of Voters, and serves as the main information center for the public.
